I Prejudices against doctors in history
Main Article Content
Abstract
This work analyzes historical and contemporary biases against doctors, highlighting how they are rooted in factors such as fear, ignorance, and social
and cultural transformations. Since ancient times, the figure of the doctor has been viewed with suspicion, especially during periods of crisis such as pandemics and wars, when human vulnerability becomes more evident.
Despite the advancements of modern medicine, the doctor-patient relationship continues to be influenced by misinformation, conspiracy theories, and the commercialization of healthcare. To improve this relationship, it is crucial to invest in education and communication, fostering a deeper understanding of medical processes and building an atmosphere of mutual trust.
Only through open and honest dialogue can these biases be overcome, paving the way for more empathetic and collaborative care, which is essential
for the progress of public health and individual wellbeing.
